It’s like Spiderman,but Chanel

with 5 comments

Craziest thing i’ve come across this week is that fashion powerhouse Chanel, the epitomy of chic, are releasing a range of temporary tattoos.

Just like the ones you used to get in Spiderman chewing gum, Chanels ‘Haute Couture Tattoos’  are the same that we all had when we were kids.Costing £49 for a pack of 55, the tattoos will go on sale in March and have already been sported by celebrities such as Daisy Lowe and Agyness Deyn.

Officially entitled ‘Les Trompe L’œil de Chanel’, each temporary tat set will have 55 designs of flowers, birds, necklace style designs, cuffs and of course the infamous double-Cs

A  reporter who tried them out has said :”my ineptitude at applying them means a colossal wastage rate, with blackened bits of logo curled about me like dead flies.”

What do you think? would you buy these tattoos to have a taste of high fashion, or like me do you think they are a collossal waste of money for somethin that just looks, well, tacky?

  1. I think its a good idea and if they were a lot cheaper I would consider trying them out. Although I think I would be hopeless at applying them :S which would result in the whole thing being a waste of time. Also wouldn’t they just come off everythime you had a shower?? They’d be lasting a day max!

  2. £50 quid for a set of 40-something tattoos doesn’t seem like a crazy price for me. Plus they are Chanel so we can’t expect them to cost pennies. Either way, I think they are really cool and funky. Finally someone came up with something fresh and new. Fashion should be fun and these tattoos look pretty funky so good for them to bring the good old paper tattoos back. And the models wearing them look pretty tasteful and interesting. I may buy them myself actually.

  3. Where I agree that these tatts look good in a photoshoot/ catwalk show, im not sure how the trend would transcend into real life and the everyday person
and i still cant help but feel Chanel is simply trying to appeal to people who perhaps wouldnt buy a Chanel bag or outfit ,but is still trying to get dough from us by supplying us with these, and whilst 40 may seem like a lot, a reporter who tried them out claimed that they are not so easy to apply, resulting in a lot of them being wasted!

Saying that though they’d be a good thing if you were thinking about getting a permanent tattoo but were unsure!Let me know if you get some, I’d quite like to see how they look in real life 🙂

  4. I see them working when you want to go out like monday night and you wanted something a bit different! I’m too worried about not liking a real tattoo after a few years so as long as they didnt go funny anytime i put them on i see this catching on.
